This great achievement was made possible through the Neheru Yuva Kendra (NYK), CYSD-DRC, Koraput, NHM & ZSSS, Koraput, UNICEF, Deptt. of Forest & Environment, GoO & District Agriculture Department. HELP is currently working in the southeastern ghat part of Odisha in the districts of Koraput, Nawarangpur, Malkangiri & Rayagada, etc.
It takes us immense pleasure to introduce HELP (Health, Environment & Literacy of People) a national NGO working with deprived communities in inaccessible pockets of tribal districts of Odisha. It reaches out to tribal children and women with the mission to ensure that children and adolescents achieve their rights to health, nutrition, education, protection and participation by making duty bearers and communities responsive to their well-being.
We seek to break the vicious cycle of poverty, malnutrition, ill-health, illiteracy, abuse and violence, affecting in particular children and women. Our initial focus on health and nutrition has grown further in the areas of education and child protection. We focus on localizing the SGDs and making child friendly communities by strengthening local governance actors, such as Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies, service providers, such a health personnel and teachers, and adult and child community representatives, by mobilizing the use of available resources to identify and support local solutions.
HELP is currently working in Odisha on Health & Nutrition, child protection, early childhood education and governance. Since, Women & Child Development Department is addressing Child Rights and Protection issues in the state of Odisha, HELP would like to collaborate its expertise, resources, and collaborative working strategy for implementation on various aspects of Child Protection issues with your noble guidance. We are a coalition partner of NACG-EVAC India in Odisha where we are sensitizing on Child Protection measures specially on POCSO & JJ Act to the front-line workers like ASHA, AWW, PRI Members, Teachers & straightening village child protection committee’s in Odisha.
